I wanted to find out if in powershell you can make changes to DFS links.  We have hundreds of DFS links and I wanted to make changes to the DFS targets of the many links we have setup.  At the moment the targets of our links are setups as :

    \\servername\directory\.......

I want to change the servername of the target to the full path name, such as servername.domain.com, so the target would read :

    \\servername.domain.com\directory.

I have been told by our IT peers access will be quicker then.
Doing this manually will take ages as we have hundreds of links and targets.

Is there anyway in powershell you can run a script which can make this dfs change.

Only way I do this is to use cmd dfscmd, a Windows command line tool.

    Call from pshell

    Hi

I've created a a PowerShell module for manipulating DFS using a combination of WMI and native API calls. It is still a work in progress, but check it out and feel free to contribute:
