We are starting a Powershell Users' Group in the Indianapolis area.  We will probably meet on the IUPUI campus in the evenings.  Please respond if you are interested in joining.  Currently, we are thinking of planning our first meeting in mid April.

We are starting an Indianapolis PowerShell Users' Group. The first meeting of the group will be April 6th, 2010 at 6:30PM in the UC Lower Level (Taylor Hall). If you are thinking about getting started with PowerShell or are already a master, there will be a role for you in the group.

The first meeting will deal with organizational matters of the group and a basic introduction to PowerShell. Subsequent meetings will build from this foundation.

If you are interested in attending, please RSVP to Nathan Byrer (nsbyrer@iupui.edu). The meeting is open to anyone and not limited to IU. Anyone interested in PowerShell is welcome. If you know of others that may be interested, feel free to send this to them.

Colin Nichols and his staff will be showing us scripts that they are working on in their shop. I'll post more information as I get it from Colin

If you are interested in attending, please RSVP to Nathan Byrer (nsbyrer@iupui.edu). The meeting is open to anyone and not limited to IU. Anyone interested in PowerShell is welcome. If you know of others that may be interested, please forward this Email to them.

    Nathan,

Have you checked out PowerShellGroup.org? You can host your user group activities there if you like. Joel Bennett (MVP) is trying to have that be a central registry of PowerShell user groups. There's lots of cool features to the site.

I have an account on the site and have tried to figure out how to let the site admin know that we want to be added, but have been unsuccessful with the navigation.  I do recall that I posted or Emailed someone on the site back in March about our new group, but never heard anything back from it.

I had the same problem when starting my group (NYC). I've e-mailed the webmaster (Joel/Jaykul) of powershellgroup.org about this thread. he should contact you somehow very soon. It's worth hosting over there. Most of the work is already done for you.

When you get in make sure to view the Powershell-User-Group-leader e-mail group archive. There are some great posts in there regarding getting sponsorship and funding for your group.

If you need any advice/help I would use the thread and wiki on powershellgroup.org for group leaders. if you need any personal advice or help feel free to contact me:
    write-host ((0..90)|%{if (($_+1)%3 -eq 0){[char][int]("116111101110117102102064103109097105108046099111109"[($_-2)..$_] -join "")}}) -separator ""

Best of luck on your future meetings,
    T

My partner received an Email from them today, so we may show up soon. I'll take a look at the archive. Thanks for the tip.
